Toyota FSV-R, fuel-cell powered vehicle |
And it looks pretty cool.
Not only does the Toyota FSV-R look sleek and futuristic, it will also be able to take drivers 300 miles on a full take of hydrogen. That is comparable to the Tesla Model S.
The Toyota FSV-R will also be comparable to the Tesla Model S in price.
This article includes a great two minute commercial highlight the need for vehicles that use alternative, renewable power sources. It also points out a "weakness" of fuel-cell technology stating that the infrastructure to support such vehicles (ie fueling stations) isn't in place. But, to us, that is not a deterrent but an opportunity! Many people said that about electric vehicles and now charging stations are popping up all over the country. It is only a matter of time before fuel-cell infrastructure catches up. Toyota is choosing to be a leader in this regard and we think that's awesome.
The future of our planet depends on transportation that uses renewable energy sources, like hydrogen as found in the most abundant resource on the planet: water. The Toyota FSV-R will use water to power the engine and only emit oxygen into the air. We think that a combination of fuel-cell vehicles and electric vehicles could be the future of the transportation industry.
What do you think of the Toyota FSV-R? Would you buy one?
