Recipe for Asparagus Season in the PNW

Have you started to notice all the fresh, locally grown asparagus bunches in your local grocery store or farmers market? That's because it's finally fresh asparagus season! For some, asparagus is an acquired taste, but prepared just right, it should please even the pickiest of eaters.

Or at least make for conversation and some giggles for it's most well known property (making the urine of asparagus eaters smell different).

Asparagus is just about the most perfect side dish, as it can be boiled, grilled, baked, sliced, and even made into a delicious soup. We like to keep to things simple, so here is a simple and tasty recipe because it uses great ingredients: butter, herbs, shallots, and pine nuts.

What's your favorite way to eat asparagus?
