The first recall involves certain 2019 Model Year Prius vehicles and the second certain 2019-2020 Model Year Toyota C-HR and 2020 Model Year Corolla and Corolla Hybrid vehicles in the United States.
Combination Meter Recall
Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2019 Prius vehicles. Approximately 3,800 vehicles are involved in this recall.
An electrical short circuit in the combination meter could occur, causing the speedometer, the odometer, and the fuel gauge to become inoperative. If the speedometer and the fuel gauge are inoperative, this condition may not meet certain safety regulations and could increase the safety risk by diverting the driver’s attention from the driving task.
For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will check a component within the combination meter and if necessary, replace the combination meter circuit board with a new one at no cost to customers.
Toyota will notify owners by early February 2020.
Seat Belt Recall
Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain C-HR, Corolla and Corolla Hybrid vehicles. Approximately 9,000 vehicles are involved in this recall.
The subject vehicles are equipped with rear seat belt assemblies that have two types of locking mechanisms. One of the locking mechanisms in certain seat belts may not have been assembled correctly. This can cause an occupant to not be restrained properly in certain crashes, increasing the risk of injury.
For all involved vehicles, Toyota dealers will inspect the rear seat belt assemblies and replace any affected seat belt assembly with a new one at no cost to customers.
Toyota will notify owners by early February 2020.
