Affordable Used Toyotas for Winter Driving

Here in the Pacific Northwest we wrapped up a couple weeks of frigid temperatures. There were only scattered snow showers, but lots of slick road conditions.

In a timely article, MSN.com published an article listing some of the best used AWD vehicles for less than $10,000 that are the best for wintery road conditions. There were a few Toyotas you might recognize on that list, including some that are available at Burien Toyota as part of quality pre-owned vehicle program:

·         2004-2005 Toyota Sienna. There have been all-wheel-drive minivans before, but the Sienna takes the most modern approach to all-weather family hauling. A 3.3-liter 230-horsepower V6 engine motivates the Sienna with authority while delivering respectable 18 mpg city/24 mpg highway fuel economy.”

·         2004-2005 Toyota Matrix. They are roomy, generate best-on-the-list gas mileage — 26 mpg city/31 mpg highway — but the 1.8-liter engine produces a trivial 123 horsepower. Only XR trim versions can be had with all-wheel drive.”

·         2001-2002 Toyota Sequoia. “The Sequoia runs Toyota's 4.7-liter V8 engine rated at 315 horsepower and 13 mpg city/17 mpg highway. It's big on the outside as well as the inside, with 3-row seating to ensure transportation of all manner of passengers and cargo. The available shift-on-the-fly 4WD ensures you're ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at you.”

“These are all really fantastic used vehicles, especially for winter driving here in the Puget Sound area,” said Ted Klarich, general sales manager at Burien Toyota. “In the winter, we really don’t know what road conditions are going to be from mile to mile; they can change so drastically.
