Toyota Camry: a Favorite in Seattle

2012 Toyota Camry Will Stay Top of Its Class

If you’re the average automobile shopper looking for a new vehicle, you probably read a couple reviews of the few vehicles you are interested in. Well, we’ve made it a little easier for you. Check out the link below so you can watch AutoGuide.com’s review of the 2012 Toyota Camry.

As is pointed out in the video, the Toyota Camry has been “the best selling car in America for nine straight years.” With stiffer competition in the mid-size sedan class, the 2012 Toyota Camry has risen to the occasion and should stay on top again for its 10th year.

What’s great about this video review of the 2012 Toyota Camry (and I mean besides the unnecessarily long montage of the 2012 Toyota Camry driving through nature with bad background music) is it covers the exterior, interior, drivability, and fun little features you get to see in action that you may not even read about in other reviews (like “paddle shifters that rev match on the downshift” next to the steering wheel). It shows why the 2012 Toyota Camry is a “near luxury” sedan (wouldn’t you like to know why?).

If you like options, then you’ll want to know that the 2012 Toyota Camry has a V-6 engine option, which sets the Camry apart from the competition because most mid-size sedans are only employing a 4-cylinder engine. Important to note is that the 2012 Toyota Camry has shaved at least 150 pounds off of its frame; in fact, the Camry Hybrid has lost 220 pounds. Of course, this helps with better gas mileage and handling. With its 25/35 mpg city/highway, the Toyota Camry has re-established itself as the “fuel economy leader once again.”

The video also spotlights the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid which is back on top (if it ever left the top) with an amazing 12mpg improvement over the last model, giving drivers a city/highway combination mpg of 41. As hybrid technology continues to make strides, the Camry Hybrid not only gets great mileage but is also quick and fun to drive.

One of the coolest features of the new model are the apps you can access in your dashboard; including an app that will tell you where the cheapest gas is in the area. For a look at more of the awesome features of the 2012 Toyota Camry, check out the video.

Toyota is significantly decreasing the cost of the higher end Camry models, including the “near luxury” Toyota Camry SE model, so this may be the perfect time to jump into the Camry family or renew your vows. While the video does a great job of giving you a tour of the interior of the vehicle and showing you how it drives, the best way to know that the 2012 Toyota Camry is for you is to head to Toyota of Burien and take one for a test drive!

Red Tags at Toyota

September Will Have You Seeing Red Tags at Toyota

The month of September marks the beginning of fall. Fall means back to school with yellow buses, orange pencils and red tags. I mean, red leaves.

No, I meant red tags.

Because September is Toyota’s Red Tag month where all cars and trucks will be marked down to make room for next year’s inventory, giving buyers an opportunity to save big.

“The Red Tag sales event at Toyota of Burien is a huge deal,” said Ted Klarich (email) of Burien Toyota. “The Red Tag sale is a great time to purchase that new car or truck because buyers can save so much money. Slowly, consumers are coming back out to the lots and sometimes all they need is a little extra incentive to convince them that now is the right time to buy. Well, now is the right time to buy!”

Red Tag sales are not anything unique to Toyota. Industries and businesses all over the world use red tag sales to bring in new customers and clear their floor of old inventory. What’s different about Toyota Red Tag sales is that we aren’t trying to get rid of OLD inventory! The Toyota cars and trucks we have put Red Tags on are new (some of them are 2013 models!) and many of them lead the industry in their class.

Toyota of Burien has great deals and an eager staff waiting to help you find the perfect car or truck to meet your needs. During the Toyota Red Tag sales event, buyers could get:

·         Up 0%APR on 9 different New Toyota models, including the 2012 Toyota Avalon and Toyota Corolla, for up to 60 months! (That works out to $16.67/mo per $1,000 financed for 60 mnths, with your good credit!) Say, isn't that sort of like getting to use money for free for 5 years???
·         Our Best Deals of the Year!
·         Get 1.9% APR on the 2013 Toyota Highlander and 2013 Toyota Sienna!

To see these and more fantastic Red Tag sales, go to the Incentives Page.

Whether you are interested in the crowd favorite Toyota Camry or something a little bigger like the Toyota Highlander, a traditional gas vehicle or hybrid car, September is the time to come down to Toyota of Burien and go for a test drive. You may find you want to dance like one of these guys from the Mississauga Toyota dealership. And I’m guessing you’ll be so happy, you’ll be dancing like the red tag guy and not the blue tag guy.

Toyota of Burien and a Ride Around the Sound

Toyota of Burien is teaming up with the American Lung Association of Washington to provide cyclists with a fully supported Ride Around the Sound on Sept. 15 in an effort to make sure people around Washington can ride their bikes, paddle their kayaks, and walk their dogs with healthy lungs and clean air. Toyota of Burien and the ALA made the Ride Around the Sound an event perfect for families and more experienced cyclists with rides ranging from the 12 mile family ride around West Seattle or a beautiful 100 mile “century” trek around Puget Sound. Individuals and families can register at RideAroundtheSound.org.

According to Renee Klein with the ALA of Washington, they are expecting 200-500 cyclists and volunteers and each will raise $150 to “support our tobacco, lung health and clean air programs. [The ALA's] mission is to keep kids from starting to smoke, to help adult smokers quit, to support people with lung disease, and to advocate for clean air at the local, state and national levels.” Partnering up with the ALA was only natural for Toyota of Burien because of Toyota’s dedication to create environmentally friendly automobiles that create less air pollution than most automobiles in the industry and Toyota of Burien’s commitment to bettering local communities.

In addition to sponsoring the event, Toyota of Burien and Chevrolet of Burien are providing pace cars in advance of the cyclists. Klein said the support of Toyota of Burien has a huge impact on the ALA and the community. “Burien Toyota is well known as a great community partner…Frankly without our partners like Burien Toyota, we could not conduct these events. It is especially important in an inaugural year like this one, where a partner is coming on board and we can build the relationship as the event grows in popularity.”

Toyota of Burien believes in giving back the community that it has served for so many years. In fact, even before her involvement with Toyota of Burien for the Ride Around the Sound, Renee was a customer there.

“My family lived in Normandy Park for 13 years, my kids went to local schools with the Anderson family who own the dealership, and I bought my first Prius from Burien Toyota,” Renee said. “It’s a great community business and we are lucky to have them.”

Cherisse Timmer, from Olympia, Washington, will be cycling in Ride Around the Sound because she knows full well the impact of lung disease on families. “As a nurse, I see people who struggle with asthma and other lung diseases, or people who have lost loved ones to the crippling addiction to tobacco. I’m excited to be doing this ride to support such a great cause!”

There are five convenient routes for the Ride Around the Sound. The Family Ride (12 miles) route is a short and relaxing ride along Alki Beach in West Seattle, allowing cyclists to take in panoramic views of the Seattle skyline. Predominantly on the Alki Trail, this route has been designed specifically to keep young or beginner cyclists away from traffic and challenging obstacles, such as hills or rough terrain. This is a fully supported ride, and as such will have refreshments, bike mechanical support for flat tires or gear adjustments, and first aid.

Cyclists up to a bigger challenge can take on the full 100-mile “century” distance, an 88-mile route that also begins in West Seattle, a 75-mile route that begins in Normandy Park, or a 45-mile route that begins in Tacoma. The Family Ride begins and ends at South Seattle Community College. The longer rides end at the Southworth ferry dock on the Kitsap Peninsula, and participants will enjoy a relaxing ferry ride back to West Seattle and a sumptuous finish line feast.

Toyota of Burien is teaming up with the ALA to support its mission of “working to end lung disease and keep the air our children breathe clean. All proceeds will support the ALA’s mission to promote lung heath through education, advocacy and scientific research.” Join us as a rider or volunteer to create cleaner air and a brighter future for Washington’s children.
